Available technology:
- Mould produced with our without gelcoat, depending on customer request.
- Epoxy resin with Tg of 90C, 110C, 130C or 160C can be used, or alternatively vinyl ester.
- Mould main shell produced by infusion or hand lamination at customer’s option.
- Mould strengthened by sandwich concept, balsa or honeycomb at customer’s option.
- Electric or air heating heating, at customer’s option.
- PC based heating control and monitoring software.
- Mould frame is designed using FEA software.
- Extra strong support of the mould shell, for long life and stable support of the shell.
- Optional exclusive patented mould shape adjustment system.
- Optional fully automatic mould alignment and clamping system.
Red Maple is the largest wind turbine blade mould manufacturer worldwide, having shipped more than 40 sets of 1.5MW and 2.0MW moulds since starting production at the beginning of 2008.
Red Maple has invested more than $4 million USD and has the following facilities and equipment available for mould production:
- Total factory area of 8500m2.
- Air conditioned and heated CNC plug production facility.
- In-house laser tracking team, including laser tracker and 3 trained operators.
- In-house quality lab, with:
- Mechanical tester, including creep and fatigue
- DSC machine
- Delamination tester
- Rheometer
- Resin content burnoff furnace
- Thermal cycling oven
